Providing CARE to Families
Providing a vehicle for to assist those suffering from catastrophic events through projects typically linked to agriculture and/or farm families.
FamilyFarms Charities does not include the word “family” in its name by accident. Family can be counted on to help in times of need. To show our caring for farm families and communities who are suffering from catastrophic events FamilyFarms Charities is committed to CARE. This may take any number of forms: physical effort and investment of equipment or other assets in helping a farmer complete harvest during or after some devastating event or catastrophic illness, providing an education fund for a surviving child after the untimely death of a parent, or providing food and supplies from those suffering from disaster.
Our first project was a gift of funds to buy food for tornado victims in the Joplin area following the devastating tornado of 2011. Distribution of supplies through Arkansas Rice Depot is shown in these photos supplied by ARD. Additionally, in January 2012, FamilyFarms Charities hosted a packing event. Team members packed 576 personal care kits to be supplied to disaster victims through the ARD. These kits included a bar of soap, wash cloth, hand towel, fingernail clippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb and band-aids.
